The Story Behind the Song

This song was actually the first that I wrote for Q's second album. We wanted the album to have more of a worship feel than our first album, so I was writing a lot of songs straight from scripture. These verses really jumped out at me when I read them.

The Lyrics

Chorus: We will only suffer for a little while
in this world so dark and cold
Yes, we will only be here a little while
'til the Father calls us home.

The God of all grace who called you to his glory
will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
When your work on earth is done, he will exalt you
so humble yourself under his mighty hand.

The devil prowls about like a roaring lion,
and he's looking for someone to devour.
Stand firm in your faith and you will resist him
The Lord will see you through. He cares for you.
