The Story Behind the Song

On the evening before my daughter, Cassidy, was born, I took my sampler and a microphone up to the hospital and recorded about 60 seconds of her heartbeat. A few months after she was born, I took the heartbeat track and built the song's tempo around it.

This song also has a two-fold meaning. I wrote it for Cassidy, but when listening to it, I also hear God's voice, singing me to sleep with words of comfort. We mean more than anything to him.
