The Story Behind the Song

That’s right. Believe it or not, one of my songs actually has a sequel. During the last Q sessions, I was sitting in the studio listening to playbacks of “Love for One Another” and wishing there were enough lyrics to really express everything that I wanted to say in the song. With the song playing in the background, I sat there and wrote a second set of lyrics. I then used different musical elements of the original song as a backdrop for these new lyrics and that became this song.

The Lyrics

We need love in return
I pray that everyone will learn
to share the love that they receive 
so that all may believe.

Chorus: We need love
Because that is what he is.
We need love

Father please, please teach me
to be what you want me to be.
Don't let them see me.
I pray that you are all they see.

Chorus

They should know us by the love we give away.
They should see our love every hour of every day.
They look at us, hoping they will see the Father
And HE IS LOVE.

We must have love for everyone
Until our lives on earth are done.
Show the love shared by the son
when he prayed that we be one.
