The Story Behind the Song

This song is one of two that were already written and recorded before the Fresh Hope album idea came about. I wrote this song specifically as a Christmas time download on my website back in 2001 with the idea that if I ever did a "Christmas-themed" album, this would be one of the opening tracks.

Although "peace on earth" is a very common sentiment during the holiday season, this song was actually inspired by a quote from one of my High School Bible teachers: "Where Jesus is, there is peace. Where he is not, there is chaos." (Thanks, Mr. T!) That's such a true statement. The ONLY way for us to actually achieve peace is through Jesus Christ.

Now that the son of God has arrived

Our loving Savior is born tonight!

It was a night like any other night
Nothing seemed out of place
No one knew this night would bring into the world
The Savior of the human race

But in one quiet moment the world would change forevermore
It was the glorious coming of the Lord!
